Installation is a breeze with the supplied instructions. Works as advertised and appears to be fairly accurate. Has the advantage of displaying actual speed over the water, ( with current / against current ) as opposed to satellite systems that only display actual ground speed.

Easy to install, I was concerned about the speed accuracy. First time, and every time I use it, the speed my Hummingbird displayed matched the speed my GPS displayed.

I received a 596c for a gift, and installed it this fall. In my understanding of the owners manual, and online information, the new Speed/Temp transducer will override my existing Temp transducer. Also, will the unit automatically recognize the second transducer ie speed and trip log in the software, or do I need to turn on the features in the advanced mode?
