I bought one of these on June 10,2006 for my 535 Humminbird fishfinder and on June 17,2006 I went to Brookville Lake, Indiana to take my grandson fishing. As we were going out of the channel to the lake we had went 0.03 miles when the paddlewheel came off but the axiel was still there. In my opionon the paddlewheel had a defect in it but I would still buy this product again. Humminbird in my mind is still a very great product to buy and I will be buying another one soon for my other bass boat.

I received a 596c for a gift, and installed it this fall. In my understanding of the owners manual, and online information, the new Speed/Temp transducer will override my existing Temp transducer. Also, will the unit automatically recognize the second transducer ie speed and trip log in the software, or do I need to turn on the features in the advanced mode?
