After mounting the transducer all you have to do is turn it on and it is working. Very easy to manually set to your liking if not satisfied with the auto mode. The auto mode did every thing I wanted.

I fish in a pond that's 2' -12' deep and looking to see if this unit will be able to see fish like how the fishing buddy does in the sidefinding images.The fishing buddy is good but don't like carrying extra batteries. any other unit suggestion ?Answers

Includes transducer XNT-9-QB-90-T. Transducer mounting: Inside Hull or Transom mount only.The PiranhaMAX 180 uses two frequencies and three different sonar elements, one narrow, two wide, which transmits signals to the left, right and straight down from your boat. The downward beam is 200 kHz with a 20-degree area of coverage. This beam maintains continuous digital depth readout from the bottom directly beneath your boat. The side beams are 455 kHz with a 35-degree area of coverage, for a total of 90-degree area of coverage.
