Nice unit Nice unit with great features. Screen resolution and graphs are of high quality for the price. August 20, 2013
Front boat fiend! We have this unit on the trolling motor with the screen at our feet on the bow. It really picks up a lot for a reasonably priced system. The temperature reading is the cherry on top, because, you know, bass fishing! The only drawback is when you mount the transducer to the trolling motor, you need to think it through so you have slack line but not too much. July 6, 2014
Good Purchase I would recremend this fishfinder to anyone who is going to buy your first fishfinder. It's easy to use and easy to install. The feature I like the most is it has auto mode feature to where you do'nt have to set it all your self. Dual sonar beams are a plus. For the price you pay it's great deal. April 30, 2013
Humminbird PiranhaMax 175 I bought this fish finder a couple weeks ago and had it out twice and can't keep it from flopping around on the depth. My next step is to contact the manufacturer to get my money back. April 30, 2013

I am looking for a finder that can be moved between boats. Does this need to be hard mounted, or can you sucking cup mount it and move it?

If hard mount only, any suggestions on a decent portable finder?

From the description: Standard transducer XNT-9-28-T mounts inside hull or transom. How does this work while fishing from a kayak? I plan to use a Scotty Sounder Mount for the fish finder. Where does the transducer go on a kayak? thanks, mike

On the PMAX175, as the screen scrolls from right to left, the information on the right is directly underneath you. As it scrolls further to the left, this becomes your history.

On the PMAX 175, you should be able to maintain bottom depth up to 70Mph, depending on your boat hull construction.

I mounted mine on the outside back transom. No extra kit to buy it comes with it. Just follow the directions and your good. If mounting to hull you need to buy an extra kit.

This unit includes everything that you will need to install it on the transom. To mount the included transducer to your trolling motor you will need to purchase the Humminbird® Trolling Motor Adapter - Model AD XTM 9, item 1446953. I have included a link to the adapter below.
