Rated 4 out of 5 by great kayak ff takes a while to understand menu. bright easy to read screen. problem mentioned above is due to menu setting. if light setting is below 3, backlight will turn off for battery savings and night use. just touch menu button and backlight comes back on. if higher backlight stays on. happy with purchase. Rated 1 out of 5 Hummingbird 196ci Fishfinder I have a Hummingbird in my dash and it works excellent and the color picture is very bright. I think it is a 587ci d. I bought the smaller unit to mount up front with a trolling motor mount transducer. In the catalog it showed a bright color picture but when I installed it, it was so dim I could not make out the details and although they may call it color, it was very poor color. It is very possible that I just did not have enough sense to program it. January 20, 2013
