Rated 5 out of 5Â by reynodo Good Unit/ Great Package
Easy to use, some assembly to mount the battery, cables, but an awesome package when complete.
Battery lasts a long long time. Nice case works well in my sailboat/ dinghy. The sonar transducer just uses a suction cup to stick on the transom. Easy to see in any light.

Excellent product. I use this on my rubber raft and it has made my fishing far more interesting and productive. Very easy to set up and start using right away.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by aw11inva Never worked properly F+
I bought this unit two years ago and mounted it on my kayak. I never felt like it was giving me any accurate info. So I moved it over to my jon boat. The readings are bizarre. I was in a lake the other day with a max depth of 44 feet and this things is saying 500+ feet deep. The map that scrolls across is all screwed up with blank spaces and is not showing an accurate picture of the bottom at all. I am really disappointed I will not buy another Humminbirg product again.

My unit worked excellent for locating schools of crappie. As long as the transducer is under water, I think that it would work anywhere. The transducer cord is plenty long enough whereas you could mount it to a pole to get it submerged and still be portable.A:Â
Works with any species of fish and works well from the dock.Details:Â
Is it possible to permanently mount the transducer to the back of the boat ?Answers
A:Â
Yes but you would need an adapter to do from the transducer to the boat.A:Â
The PiranheMAX 160 PT comes with a suction cup transducer.Details:Â
I was wondering if my Humminbird PiranhaMAX 160 PT Fishfinder is compatible with an ice fishing trasducer?Thank you,
Answers
A:Â
Yes, You would need to order the Ice Transducer to be able to use for ice fishing. Item number 38-532-936-00 model XI 9 20Details:Â
How LONG is the cord between the unit and the transducer? Also, is the cord between the unit and the battery long enough to remove the unit from the soft case and mount it somewhere?Answers
A:Â
The transducer cord is very long but the cord to the battery is very short. I also purchased a transducer that attaches to my bow mounted trolling motor which I tend to use more than the rear suction cup. I have opted not to buy another fancier fish finder as I like the ease and convenience of the portable one.Details:Â
Can you hardwire this to the boat battery instead of using the rechargable battery that come with it?Answers
A:Â
Well yes. Anything 12Volt is 12 Volt it does not matter what size battery it is as long as it is a 12 volt sourceA:Â
Yes, you can extend the power cable in the case with 18 gauge multi strand copper wire to a 12 volt battery for power. You will need to incorporate a 3 amp in-line fuse on the positive as well according to Humminbird. Thanks!Answers

I haven't had issues with either, has a good back light for night, and being in the case really helps to avoid glare during the day.A:Â
It does have a Backlight for when it starts to get dark out. The screen is clearly visible in bright sunlight.Details:Â
Can you have a permanant transducer on a boat and hook this up to it but after you remove the suction cup transducer.Answers
A:Â
Use just the suction cup transducer.Details:Â
will it completly destroy it if used in saltwaterAnswers
A:Â
