by GFort Onix 10 SI has not worked since new
I purchased this unit new on 8/13/2014. I would give this unit no stars if that was an option. The first time I used the unit the down imaging did not work at all, contacted Humminbird support while on the water, they asked if I could find someone else with the same unit so I could hook it up to so I could see if it was a transducer or main unit, told I had no one else around, they told me I would need to send the entire unit back into to Humminbird, Later that day I contacted them back and they agreed to send me a new transducer. I got the new transducer in on the 8/26/2014 and installed it, the next time I was able to use it was on 9/4/2014. It worked fine for about 6 hours and then the down imaging, side imaging, got all kinds of lines all over it, the 2d sonar had nothing, and the depth no longer was being read. Contacted Humminbird while on the water, went through alot of the configurations with tech support to verify the settings, and sending them screens shots. 5 days later after looking at the screen shots they said it looked like electrical interference, so I removed the transducer along with the power cables, and wire the unit in on top of my bass boat deck to its own dedicated battery on the deck also, now all the wiring outside of the boat next to nothing, went to the lake hung the transducer in water, and still the same thing garbage on SI and DI screens, nothing on 2D and depth not reading. the next step is to send the unit in to Humminbird. Also if you use Lakemasters on the Onix the point of interest does not work either. If you plan on buying this unit do thorough research from normal everyday fisherman to get the true insight. As of today 9/10/14 I am still working on getting a functional unit. The one down image below captured when the unit was working for 6 hours after the second transducer was installed, then it went to garbage, the other image shows all the garbage in the SI and SI and not depth reading, and even some odd black box in the DI window. These units have some serious issues.
