Thanks to the sales people at the Auburn, NY store for taking the time they did on telling me about the features of the 859. I really don;t know how to explain how easy this unit is to set up preferences but that process was very quick. I have fished one of the finger lakes for 40 years and am now seeing bottom structure detail like I have never seen before. I mainly fish for Trout & Bass. The screen is visible on bright sunny days. I highly recommend the Navionics chip for bottom contour as was suggested to me by the Bass Pro shop salesmen. Just the other day fishing for Lake Trout, I was able to just keep the downrigger ball off bottom yet follow the contour without getting hung up. The ability to zoom in/out for detail is fantastic. Beyound any doubt this 859 has helped me find and catch fish faster than ever before.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dano300 Was so looking forward to this unit
The 859CI HD DI COMBO was received with a little damage to the outside packaging, okay - no big, i'll check it and if need be I can return. Found the inside factory packaging surprisingly minimal compared to what I would expect for high priced electronic equipment. After inspecting the unit I found hairline cracks radiating from every function button hole on the front panel and also from the nearly all case screw holes on the back panel. No problem - called BP Cust Serv and got my return auth in a flash. Later received replacement unit - no shipping issues this time and upon inspection found the exact same problems with this one as with the first unit. So - had to return this one too. It looks like these are factory defects and it makes me wonder if these are "blems" (factory seconds) that they are sending out from Hummingbird. Those hairline cracks will cause big trouble down the road as they will promptly become larger with Sun and temperature extremes on the boat. Moisture will soon find it's way in setting you up for a fogged screen and corrosion as a result. Probably just about when the warranty expires. Pass on this one and check your units carefully when they come in before install.

Love it. I really thought that this was a nice fishfinder as I spent much time reviewing the online information. I was wrong, it is even better than that. Wow was I surprised. Easy installation, easy to use and the incredible views you get of the bottom are priceless. You must get on of these rather it be the DI or the SI model they will not disappoint you. I purchased the lake master maps and love them. I went to Kentucky lake and the maps are incredibly accurate and a valuable tool to have if you do not know the lake. It made me fall in love with my boat again all over. Be sure and get a RAM mount it make the experience explode.
