Rated 1 out of 5 by momhiker2 DO NOT BUY! Keep Looking!
Nothing but issues, frustration, and hassles! GPS WON'T stay locked on. Called Humminbird numerous times and finally told to return head unit for replacement to BPS. Still will not stay locked on. Past the 60 day Bass Pro refund even though we just received the new head unit. Should have returned it, got a refund, and been done instead. Now, Humminbird wants pics of the unit to help determine the cause. Humminbird needs to find a solution NOW or gives us a refund. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. Keep looking to save yourself all the issues, frustration, and hassles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fishinnutk Good product for the price.
I bought this to replace the cheap fish finder that came on my new boat. This is the first Humminbird that I have owned and now I will never go back to the other brand. The other reviews talk about the cold start, this is no different than a hand held gps. I turn mine on as I am preparing to launch and by the time I get to the water it is working fine. The images are great, it shows the bottom detail very well and there are so many screen choices that I can use the one that works best for the lake that I am on. I did not know about the different software that is availible until after I purchased the unit. The software will be an extra bonus for me in the future. The charting and down imaging work better than I had expected. Between all the different frequencies I can get all the detail I need to find fish and structure. I am very glad I bought this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by drfishing Very poor GPS Performance
I'm very surprised by the other two reviews because my experience with two of these units is very different. I do not nor have I ever worked for a GPS or fishfinder manufacturer. I am a retired individual that likes boating and fishing.
My review: The GPS on this unit does a cold start if the unit has been shut down for more than two hours. This means a 5 to 10 minute wait time for a GPS lock. The GPS also has very poor sensitivity and will lose lock often if in the open with an overcast sky. This is with the unit mounted on the dash in the open with no obstruction of the entire sky. I didn't experiment with the unit being covered, but assume it will not lock at all if it is covered by a boat top. I had Humminbird send me a replacement unit and it also performed exactly the same as described above. Also, The depth, speed, temp information are keyed in white boxes on the screen that block much of the chart rather than just keying the digits themselves. A very rudimentary keyer. I returned both units and purchased a different brand which I am very happy with.
