I have the 597 DI and was moving the unit from the console to the trolling motor. I friend mentioned he would be pariniod of dropingthe unit in the water. That after noon almost did. Bmoved to the 598 on the console and even though I love the 597, I was impressed. Only be out once and could belive the structure I could see. I turned the 598 to face forward so not only could I mark spots with down imaging, i could look back and see what structure I was catching the crappie off of. I would like a lock on the mount to keep both my units secure. Any ideas on that would be appreciated...

This a great entry level side imaging fishfinder. Everything is great the layout , the buttons , the user friendly use. The ony thing I do not like is it comes with unimap, it should come with a better map system included. The unimap is basic and just shows the outline of the land and water, no depth countours or anything else. That is why I give it 4 stars. It does use alot of power as well.
