Rated 5 out of 5Â by hardfisherman BUY THIS!!
The 595ci HD is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have not had a fish finder since the 80's and boy, how they have improved!! I also bought the premium hotmaps and it is worth every penny!! Installing this was pretty simple. After installing it I got a chance to go fishing 2 days later. I was using the map to stay on the breakline when I came upon submerged brush/logs and the fish alarm went nuts!! BINGO!! The crappie was STACKED all over it. I dropped my jig under the transducer (mounted it to the trolling motor) and watched it drop the 22ft in the middle of the school of crappie. I started to jig it but I couldn't because a crappie already had it!! From there it was all catching and not fishing. Had my limit in less than a hour. Before I left I marked it. I went back 3 days later and got the same results.......my limit of 1 1/2 - 2 pound crappie. It is awsome to watch your jig disappear in the middle of a school of crappie and feel the hit!! Anyway, BUY THIS FISH FINDER!!! You will not be sorry. The hotmaps are worth every penny. It shows the 1' contours and other vital info.

BPS delivered it very promptly. Fish finder works good so far. Fairly easy to install. Nice screen display and many options and features. Bass Pro had the best price by far of any of the stores that I looked at for this unit

I do like the unit except the description of the product was a little confusing in your catalog , I thought I was buying a unit with Down Imaging, but after I in stalled the unit I realized that this wasn't DI unit. What the heck did Combo mean? Sense I live some 150 miles from the nearest Bass Pro shop I had a friend stop by and look at the unit in the store. He thought it was a good buy.
I would highly recommend the description of the product indicate that the unit doesn't have DI, not until I went back to the catalog did I realize that DI meant Down Imaging.

Just purchased about one month ago. I did not buy the DI function. I like the clarity of the screen, and the operation of the various menus. I think I will get better with the navigation once I work with it a little more.
There are two things that Hummingbird should consider, first a cover for the screen for none use times. Small item, but Ihave found a need for it.
Secondly, an operational Manuel. All 160 pages, for easy access to the various sections. I have a printer, so I had the ability to print from the disk. What a pain.
The product costs enough for the consumer, that would justify the expense to Hummingbird. You can't set it up effectively, without it.

I believe it does. The GPS has many lakes included, but...it doesn't include any topography. You have to purchase a Navionics "chip" for that upgraded feature.
UniMap™ will cover the continental U.S. coastline, inland lakes and rivers at 30 meters per pixel resolution UniMap™ gives you an accurate chart almost anywhere you travel in the United States. Kentucky Lake should be listed. If not, you might try the Navionics® HotMaps® Premium 2D Lake Maps item number 38-532-628-00.
I already have a 798 si transducer mounted but my Unit went out within a few months. I wanted to order this unit as a backup and to use while my 798 is getting repaired.
Unfortunately, the 798 SI does not have the same transducer. The 798 SI fishfinder has transducer model XNT-9-SI-180-T. The 597ci HD fishfinder has transducer model XNT-9-20-T.
