I picked this up a few weeks and so far can't complain. The side imaging feature took a bit of playing with to finally getting working to what I think is appropriate. I think the major problem is I primarily fish in shallow water (6-7 feet) which didnt seem to scan properly. Deeper water around 12 to 20 looks great, wish I could see something other than just the bottom. My cheaper unit on the bow seems to pick up all kinds of fish which this unit doesn't, but neither does my hook. Granted everyone has a computer, but I like paper. Wish the unit would come with a paper manual rather than a cd. I typically don't take my laptop out on the boat fishing. Having the book would be nice to figure out all the features. The menus are pretty straight forward and you shouldn't have any issues. I was concerned about the display in direct sunlight but I see it just fine. Overall a great unit and the gps works great. The maps built in are very basic but even the smallest ponds I fish are on there.

I would have given it 5 stars but it did not come with a manual.Instead it came with a cd-rom in which i have no way of playing while on the lake.overall though it seems to work just fine and I am happy with it

GPS would not lock onto satellites. Had to return to humminbird for repair. Had to pay for shipping to get it there. Service technician. Told me this was a common problem.
