Rated 1 out of 5 by fishinbum75 not a fish locator
I am very disappointed in this locator.... the resolution is horrible and cannot determine fish on this unit.. the unit is fine for depth and temp but it is not a fish locator.... I only wish I could exchange it for another type unit.......

Rated 4 out of 5 by BearLakeFishGuy Very good unit for the money
I bought this in late October 2012 and have used it about 10 times. It took some playing around with the setting to get it to where I wanted it, but now it is working great. I have not had much opportunity to use the DI part, but the sonar works great, is sensitive, and has very minimal noise. I like the 455KHz sonar since it doesnt interfere with the 200KHz Lowrance, therefore I can run both units at the same time with no "snow" on either screen. The only issue I have is that I like to use the zoom feature a lot. I like to be able to turn it on, then off, then adjust how much it zooms. I can do all of this, but it involves about 3 button pushes each time. I just wish there was a separate zoom button to turn it on/off and adjust just the zoom, rather than having to push buttons and select different menus each time just to change the zoom power. This unit replaced a BottomLine Tournament 5100 which had a 7" screen. I thought I would miss the larger screen but this one is not bad. Also, I've used this in temperature that dipped to about +10F and the screen still worked perfectly! Very clear and easy to read display. One hint. Take the time to print out the user manual from the CD. The "quick start" guide is almost useless if you want to customize the sonar. If you have the whole user manual (I printed 2 pages of manual per printer page), its about 50 pages long. It makes using and setting up the unit like you want to use it a lot easier. Finally, its really nice that you do not have to have the boat in the water to set up the sonar. When you turn it on, the unit senses it is not in the water and gives you an option to go into a simulation mode where you can make/change all the setting to how you want to customize it and then it will remember your last settings even though you made them in the "simulation" mode. That made it nice for when I hit the water. The unit was all set up like it wanted it. Yes, I would buy this unit again!

would it be smart to mount this to my trolling motor with the transducer being so bulky?Answers
A:
You can use the transducer included with the Humminbird® Trolling Motor Adapter - Model AD XTM 9, but if you feel the transducer is too bulky you do have the option to exchange the transom transducer included for the trolling motor mount transducer through Humminbird.Per Humminbird:
All transducer-equipped Humminbird products come standard with a transom-mounted transducer. However, we also offer these optional models:
* Puck (Shoot thru single layer fiberglass hull)
* Angled Puck (Shoot thru single layer fiberglass hull)
* Trolling Motor
* Portable
* Thru-Hull (plastic or bronze)
* Ice Ducer
* Stick On
If you'd prefer one of the above, you're welcome to exchange your transducer, through our factory, for no charge unless you require a bronze or plastic thru-hull transducer. Call our Customer Resource Center at 1-800-633-1468 for pricing.
We can only exchange transducers which have not been previously installed or assembled. We can only offer you credit on your transom transducer if the alternate transducer was purchased directly from the factory at our toll free number listed above. We cannot offer credit on transducers ordered through our website as most orders do not ship from our facility.
