Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Improvement We had the original unit from our 1999 Bass Tracker, which is in great shape and catches fish as well as anyone's boat. So, the fifteen year-old unit finally went and we bought what seems to be the system's new and improved offspring. It has numerous features' the top three being back-lighting, 1/10 ft increments, and temperature. The unit is very clear at all light levels, but rain seems to stay on the screen, just water tension. I will say we stay in the storm if we are getting bites! The price is fair to good, we are very happy. The two of us are probably bias towards the new unit because it replaced the archaic, factory model. July 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Great Product I bought this unit to replace a Lowrance unit on my boat. During installation some how I cut the cable for the transducer running it down the trolling motor! I cut the wires backed spliced them back together and finished the install I have found fish every time I take it out. Still reads as though the cable was still in one piece very happy with this product. The screen is big enough to read without squinting show depth and it works fine. When my 565 plays out will purchase another if they are still around. February 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent fishfinder This is a great buy for the money and meets my recreational fishing needs. August 12, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 not great this unit may work fine in a shallow water lake ,but I can't get it to read deep water at any speed. it times out at depths over 150 feet June 28, 2013

A:
The transducer will work on your trolling motor. You will need to buy a mount to install. I recommend you find one made of steel as the plastic mounts break easily.

With a little bit of thought to it you can mount it on the Trolling motor with a trolling motor clamp.

Yes, you would need to purchase the Trolling Motor Transducer separately. We offer the Transducer Mounting Hardware. This hardware kit adapts our standard transom mount transducers in the list below for use on the trolling motor, which is item number 38-531-909-00 or the Trolling Motor Mount Transducer item number 38-581-376-00.

A:
No. The only units that will tell accurate boat speed will have built in GPS. You can buy a speed accesory wheel type speedometer, But i do not recommend it. Just another hole in your transom and inaccurate speed data. Gps is the only accurate speed you can get.

The BPS Staffer mentioned the correct speed sensor for the 561 is the TSW. Since the 561 allready comes equiped with a temperature sensor, can I use the SW and save myself some money?

A:
I just talked with Hummingbird and they said the TSW would be a duplication of the temp sensor already built into the trtansducer, and the correct model is the SW.
