Replaced an older unit that finally died. Great value for the price. Works very well and was simple to install.

After my old finder (an Eagle) took a dump, I needed something reliable but affordable--and this unit surpasses all expectations. After using it all last season--I have to say I'm impressed with it. Simple to use, clear, precise. And the price was right too. Seen higher priced finders that aren't as good as this one. Highly recommend.

Broke the transducer for my 20-yr old still working Humminbird 8000, so needed a replacement. I'm 69, retired, and still pushing a 1983 Ranger 330V, purchased new, so didn't want to spend much money. So far ( 3-weeks) , real happy with this unit. It has most all the bells and whistles of more expensive units, and being black / white doesn't bother me any, as bottom, fish, and structure show up clearly.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Raiderman Perfect for my needs
I bought this because I did not need anything high tech. I just wanted to know the depth and spot fish. This fishfinder did both of those things, with even better quality and accuracy than I was expecting. I reads the depth and shows the top of the weed line with good detail. Plus I found that the installation was pretty easy.

This fishfinder will be used on my trolling motor. I need a Trolling Motor transducer, do need to order that seperate?Answers
A:Â
The transducer will work on your trolling motor. You will need to buy a mount to install. I recommend you find one made of steel as the plastic mounts break easily.A:Â
With a little bit of thought to it you can mount it on the Trolling motor with a trolling motor clamp.A:Â
Yes, you would need to purchase the Trolling Motor Transducer separately. We offer the Transducer Mounting Hardware. This hardware kit adapts our standard transom mount transducers in the list below for use on the trolling motor, which is item number 38-531-909-00 or the Trolling Motor Mount Transducer item number 38-581-376-00.Answers
A:Â
No. The only units that will tell accurate boat speed will have built in GPS. You can buy a speed accesory wheel type speedometer, But i do not recommend it. Just another hole in your transom and inaccurate speed data. Gps is the only accurate speed you can get.A:Â
No, temp only. Have to order optional equipment.A:Â
This unit is speed capable with the purchase of the speed sensor, which is our item number 38- 581-086-00 model TS W. ThanksAnswers

The BPS Staffer mentioned the correct speed sensor for the 561 is the TSW. Since the 561 allready comes equiped with a temperature sensor, can I use the SW and save myself some money?Answers
A:Â
I just talked with Hummingbird and they said the TSW would be a duplication of the temp sensor already built into the trtansducer, and the correct model is the SW.A:Â
The TSW is the Speed sensor that Humminbird lists for the 561 option. Thanks!Details:Â

I am replacing a humminbird matrix 12, are the transducer and power cords interchangeable with this unit?

The Humminbird Matrix 12 uses the XNT 9 20 Transducer and PC 10 Power Cable, which according to Humminbird will work with the 561 unit. Thanks
