Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I could see them, but they did not bite. Great little fishfinder, so far it has worked above my expectations. July 24, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a Fishing Buddie I have an inflatable boat 10' and thought this would be a good product to mount on the transom, WRONG. During very slow trolling the unit would pop out of the mounting C-Clamp and would vibrate back an fourth. This product is totaly unsuitable for moving water vessels. I would not recommend this product to anyone. July 22, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best Portable Really had my doubts about portable units...this one changed my mind. Very good screen with lots of features. Used it several times and have never been disappointed thus far. Telescoping feature of the transducer makes it versatile in many situations. June 14, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love my underwater eyes! I tried my new Fishin' Buddy the other day while using my float tube and was VERY impressed. The features works perfectly as described. The screen was easy to read, even on a very sunny day. The underwater images (in color) looked great on the graph and really gave me a new perspective of a lake that I have bank fished many times before! As an aside, I purchased the Hummingbird float tube fishfinder holder which fit snugly and held the unit in place for easy use. THIS UNIT IS A GREAT PRODUCT AND A GREAT BUY...PERIOD!! May 30, 2010

Depending on the size of your boat and how rough the water is, you can always adjust it to make sure the transducer is in the water.

According to Humminbird "Remove the Fishin´ Buddy® from the mounting bracket support arm ring when the
boat is traveling. Use the Fishin´ Buddy® at trolling speed only. Traveling at high speed with the
Fishin´ Buddy® attached can cause damage to this device."

Does it float?

Details:
The older style when still made by Bottom Line would float if it popped out of the mount. I know this one is waterproof, but does anybody know if it floats?

Same Head as the 120?

Details:
Picture shows 120 head. Is the only difference the shaft length or does the 140 come with a deferent head than what is shown in the picture? I want the better model head but only need a short shaft so I don't need to pay extra if shaft length is the only difference.

I recently bought a 9' Pond Prowler, which is plastic. When I put this fish finder on the side of the boat, it indented the plastic and made the unit go in at an angle into the water. Is there some type of bracket that can be used to make the side of the boat stronger, so this unit doesn't make scratches, etc. on the side of the boat?
