i was looking for a cheap portable fishfinder that works. i order this a couple weeks ago and it works its light weight and it only runs on 6 AA batterys which means you dont have to go and wire it up to a battery. i would recommend this product to anyone.

I just purchased this finder for my pelican bass raider and I love it. It allows me to see what the pond really look like. The only negative is I can't troll too fast whereas the clamp begins to loosen. other than that I would recommend anybody who is just starting out(boating) to get one of these(small pond boats only).

I bought it a month ago and the clamp broke before I even got the boat in the water. I rigged it the rest of the day and I gotta say I love it. About a week ago I decided to call Hummin Bird to tell them about the defect. Turns out they know that this happens alot and sent me a new clamp for free. Now I know not to tighten it up to tight. And only use it with a trolling motor of around 50 LBS. I tried trolling with my 15 HP and it wasn't slow enough to keep it in place.

When running full speed, will the unit tilt out of the water or do you have to unclamp the whole thing?Answers
A:Â
No, you will want to remove the Fishin´ Buddy® from the mounting bracket support arm ring when the boat is traveling. Use the Fishin´ Buddy® at trolling speed only. Traveling at high speed with the Fishin´ Buddy® attached can cause damage to this device. Thanks!

I will be looking for rocky bottom, will this show a good detail of the bottom surface?

A:Â
Yes, this will show details of the bottom surfaces. However, underwater conditions vary greatly, so some experience and interpretation is needed to realize all the benefits of the Fishin’ Buddy.http://store.humminbird.com/media/d...
