very cheaply made. the only thing that holds the top pieces together is 2 self tapping screws! now seriously if a person is gona use them for a guide wouldnt you think they would have something better. There was also to much area cut out of top piece where they bolt together. I ended up welding the 2 pieces together to mkae it somewhat sturdy. otherwise they work nice. not worth the $110 that they cost.

Welds are cracking after one year of fresh water use with a 600 lb 14 foot Sail boat.
Screws holding top side rails are not strong enough. I had to redrill and use larger self tapping screws after the factory screws fell out.
I glued the end caps in place .

Rated 4 out of 5 by VAchuckVA Work great in wind and current
These work great for loading the boat. Once adjusted, the wind and current are much less of a problem. The only issue I had is that my trailer "beams" are [-shaped, meaning they are open on one side. After using my boat for a while, I had a great deal of difficulty loading my boat in heavy current one day. After examining the guide-ons, I realized the pressure on the guide-on bent the bottom of the beam's [. After realizing it and moving the bunks under a supported section, it worked great again. Overall, I really like them, but use caution when installing them.

I bought one of these 2 years ago and the welds have already failed. Even tho I used the poly insulators, the corrision in salt water use was much faster than I had anticipated. I do not recommend this product for saltwater use. They were easy to install and work well. Use only in fresh water!!
