When I wore these with rubber insulated boots, the heat from the packs really didn't penetrate to my feet. When I wore them with my cordura covered boots and used 2 heat packs per boot, my feet were toasty warm. Did get a small tear in the bottom from catching a screw head on my climber, but rest assured, you can use a climber with them on and not slide all over the place.
Size wise--order one size larget than recommended if you want easy on and off. I wear a size 9 boot, and the large fits once it's on, but it takes some stretching. Will be ordering another pair in a bigger size.

I have to say there is finally a product that will keep my feet warm. As a Type 1 Diabetic for over 30 years, this has always been a challange. These are great with LaCrosse 600 gr boots. I bow hunt through the end of Jan in the mid west and often it is singe digit temps. I have yet to use these on a hunt and my feet get cold. Only thing I have found that did not work is don't use any type of toe warmers in addition. Too much heat and will burn your feet up. Other than that these are the greatest things that have ever been invented for late season hunting.

According to the manufacturer: Yes, the boot warmers will work with rubber boots. The air activated warmers generate an average of approximately 124 degrees of continuous warmth which will provide a degree of penetration through runner boots to the foot. By adding this additional heat to the top of the foot, even in lower levels of penetration vs. leather/fabric constructed footwear, they will provide additional warmth and effectiveness.
