Very disappointing! Well I have actually been a long time lover of Hornady bullets and loaded ammo, until I was recently out shooting some "Zombie" rounds. While shooting I encountered a round that had not been charged properly and was left with a bullet lodged in the barrel of my Glock 19. I was able to pound the round out with brass punch and hammer. I then emailed Hornady about the problem and more than a week has passed and still no response. I was/am not expecting anything but an acknowledgement would have been nice! February 12, 2012
Hornady The Horrible I purchased this ammo in 9mm. From the moment I attempted to chamber the first round I knew it was going to be trouble. It was hit or miss (mostly miss) if the round would chamber properly. It seems that the tip drags on the feed ramp and causes failure to feed. Very VERY unreliable, and would not ever use this ammo for carry. And way to expensive to just shoot at the range (if it feeds). This is the first review of a product I have ever written. The only reason I felt it was necessary is I attempted to contact customer Hornady customer service on a couple different occasions and got absolutely no response out of them. With the price of their "quality" ammo, they should be able to answer my questions and concerns. And just as I told them it does the same exact thing in both my taurus pt111, and my ruger sr9c. No coincidence. I never question Hornady's products and never hesitate to purchase them. But after this issue I searched the internet on this issue and found that it is fairly common. Unfortunately at that time I already had their critical defense ammo ordered and on its way for my 380. I have Hornady ammo for all four of my guns, but when it is time to buy again it will not be Hornady. Mostly due to the poor customer support, as Im not concerned about the ammo causing problems in my 357. Used to love the ammo, now not so much. If you are looking for a consistent round to carry I would not consider this or any other hornady round with the flex tip. February 4, 2015
Zombie Max This is some excellent ammo! Unlike other ammunition i have noticed that Zombie Max eliminates double taps that i have found to be the case with other brands. Hornady is just in time with this stuff!!!!!! January 1, 2012
Good Stuff Good product preforms well and a good price too. Would buy again. February 22, 2013

I've had more than 1 gun shop owner tell me this is basically the Hornady Critical Defense ammo with a green "tip" instead of red and different artwork on the box to grab attention on the shelves and cash in on the zombie craze while they are the "monsters du jour". One of them also said "Let werewolves get popular, and I'm sure Hornady will have silver bullets on the shelves".
