This is quality ammo and shoots very well. The neon green "zombie" tips makes for good novelty value but the important thing is that this is typical Hornady quality.

I bought this thinking it had same ballistics as lever evolution as stated on Hornady website. The ballistics are not the same and ammo shot approximately 8 inches lower at 100 yards in 30-30. I spoke with Hornady and the tech support people stated that the lever evolution has a higher charge than the Zombie Max. On a 24" barrel there is approximately 200 feet per second drop using Zombie Max. I told Hornady that they needed to correct their website information. I could have injured the undead deer with this ammo had I not checked zero when I changed to this box.

I hunt on Maryland's Eastern Shore with a .223 for small (under 130 lbs or so) whitetails and sitka deer. How would this ammo be for game like this?thanks for the responses I get in advance.

Zombie .223 will take small deer but it wouldn't be my first choice. Hornady has other bullets that are especially designed for hunting - check their website for a good description of the other options.A:

No this ammo is no good for that. This ammo is based off of the Hornady V-Max load. Just a bonded bullet. You need a hornady SST or a Barnes Vor-TX 55 Grain TTSX. If the deer are Zombies then by all means use this Zombie Max ammo.1 of 1
