Rated 5 out of 5 by 44 mag 300 grain xtp I handload 300 grain hollow points for my 44 magnum and these 300 grain bullets have never failed me. February 27, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Great Blackpowder Option The 240 XTP is without question an extremely accurate bullet out of all three of my muzzleloaders. I have a TC White Mountain Carbine, CVA Wolf, and a Traditions Pursuit Accelerator all in .50 caliber. I use the green Crushed Rib sabot with all three. White Mountain - 85gr. ffg 777 Wolf - 90gr. fffg 777 Accelerator - 100gr. Blackhorn 209 I used to shoot maxi balls out the the carbine until I discovered the xtp. I was happy to be in the pie plate at 75yd but now 2-3" groups are the usual. The Wolf is the newest purchase and after the success with the other two guns was the obvious bullet I tried. The Accelerator can cloverleaf this load at 100yd off of a sled. The one caution I have is for those deer hunters of you that shoot max powder loads. Be sure to check your load data and not exceed 1700-1800 fps at impact. I have never lost a deer but have experienced less than desirable penetration if terminal velocity exceeds the above numbers. Rated 5 out of 5 excellent black powder bullet this is the bullet for you if you are looking for a great black powder bullet. they are also very inexpensive. they shoot very well out of a harvester crush rib sabot. they are easily load with this sabot, have experimented with other sabots and did not perform as well or load as well. they also kill deer. they expand well and leave a blood trail that you can follow. i cant believe the difference from power belts to these bullets. once again they kill deer and leave a blood trail you can follow. i have killed 4 deer in the last two years with these bullets of which not one has run over 50 yards before piling up. all the members in our club have switched to these bullets after they saw the results of the wound produced by this product. you may need to experiment a little to get the correct recipe for your muzzleloader but it is worth it not having to chase after deer all night wondering if you really did hit a deer or not and all of your buddies thinking you are dreaming that you hit the deer. i found that the 2 of the 777 pellets with a 200 grain xtp hollow point knocks them of their feet. i shoot an omega and a knight disc extreme and this combination seems to work well for both July 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good product The Hornady bullets are accurate with good penetration and open well. Have used them for years in other calibers with similar results. May 9, 2011
