Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Lock Ring This locks the die in place without any movement. I've used the standard lock rings that have a set screw and will strip if enough pressure applied. Sometimes you can screw up the threads of the die. This works flawlessly and easy to use. March 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best lock rings ever I wish I could say that I use Hornady dies only, but I don't. Some brands of dies have great lock rings, and other have some really weak and flimsy rings. After purchasing a few sets of Hornady rifle dies, one thing I really liked about them, were the lock rings. I liked them so much, I ended up switching out all my lock rings with the Hornady brand. Just screwing the lock ring down hand tight and locking it with the Allen screw, will not give you a secure die which can affect accuracy. You need to be able to wrench it down tight, then lock it down with the screw. Using lock rings with no flat slabs, you have to use pliers or vise grips to wrench them down. This causes burs, gouges and tears the lock rings up. Rust can form and the burs can cut your fingers. Plus lets face it, it makes the rings look ugly. The Hornady lock rings have two flat slabs on them to help in wrenching the rings down. This lets you use a crescent wrench which wont slip or bur up the rings. Of all the Hornady lock rings I have purchased, I have never had any issues with messed up threads. Other rings I have. I am very pleased with these lock rings. If you don't purchase Hornady dies, I suggest buying these rings for what ever brand of dies you get. They are more secure and will last a long time. September 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good purchase They do exactly what they should. They lock down tight and dont move unless you unscrew them. Used on my Lee dies to improve stability. would buy again. August 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best lock rings I replace the lock rings on all my dies with these Hornady rings. These are the best lock rings for performance. I put these on all my RCBS, Redding, and Lee dies. March 19, 2012
