I switched from WINCHESTER .270 red tip Ballistics to the Hornady SST .270 130 grain last season. All I can say is DEVISTATING....Accurate...Awsome for the money. I havent had to trail any of the 12 deer taken in the past 2 seasons

Im shooting a Remington 700 7mm-08, and this ammunition is incredible. I've always been a Hornady guy but what they have done with these are unbelievable. Highly recommended

I can't speak for all calibers but i shot the SST 117 grain in my 25-06 as well as the 90 grain GMX . The 117 grain rounds are the most accurate i've found for 25-06 and the knockdown power is insane. Never had a coyote, fox, or bobcat take another step, all dropped instantly . Shot a deer and also dropped it. Only downfall i've seen about these bullets is for those of you who like me hunt predators for their pelts/skins. Be careful where you put the crosshairs because the exit holes can get RIDICULOUSLY BIG.
Also the 95grain SSTs in 243win. showed extreme knockdown power but don't shoot as accurately as hoped out of my lil brothers youth model rifle, i assume the barrel is just too short, or not enough twist for these high tech bullets, by the way anyone considering buying a CVA scout youth model for their young ones, DONT. they're not very accurate and the first one i bought locked up after the first shot, had to get another. they look cool and they're very light, other than that they are usesless

am shooting new england 280 rem. this is by far the best roung i have put in it yet . at 100yrds i covered a five shot ggroup with one dot from a shoot and see target. at 200yrds i cut a very good three in group. could never do that with federal preuim.

Are these bullet hollow point...if not than do hornady have any hollow point for a .270 win

They are not hollow point but sure expand like them.

I am not aware of Hornady hollow points in rifle ammo. They do provide a ballistic tip that sort of acts like a hollow point but hasbetter trajectory capabilities.

The SSTs are a polymer tipped soft pointed bullet, Not a hollow point. But as far as bullet expansion/knockdown power- these SSTs make hollow points look like FMJs. They are the hardest hitting, biggest exit hole making bullet i have ever shot.A:Â
The .270 superformance ammo from hornady use a polymer tipped bullet, and I do not think they offer a hollow point bullet for any .270 cartridge.A:Â
This ammo features the SST bullet which has a polymer tip that initiates expansion quickly upon striking the target. Hollowpoint rifle bullets are typically found in match loads where ultimate accuracy is the only goal. The .270 is a hunting cartridge, and thus not normally loaded with hollow point projectiles. I shot a one inch group @100yds using a Browning A-Bolt and Superformance .270 ammo. It's good stuff!1 of 1
