As with all Hornady products, these dies are well engineered. Well worth what I paid for.

I purchased this product with high hopes, but instead a great disappointment.
The bullet seating die leaves a ring around the bullet, like other comments that were said, it's TRUE. Also, the bullet seating die has a differential of 0.011" when using the hornady bullet comparator on my calipers. That is UNACCEPTABLE!!!
You may be thinking that I am not eliminating enough variables; well here we go...
First I cleaned the die set just like the video that Hornady provided.
Second, I have tried this with three different bullets (Berger FB Target BTHP 52gr, Hornady A-Max 52gr. BT, Nosler Spitzer BT 40gr) and I gauged 50 bullets with the comparator and had no more than 0.003" variance. That still leaves atleast 0.008" un-accounted for!?!?
I then contacted "Jim" with Hornady and they said it was the "seating stem", and sent out a new one.
About a week later I received the part, cleaned, and installed. Absolutely no difference, still a deep ring around all bullets and a differential of 0.011" with only testing 4 cartridges. I video-taped those 4, and will be contacting Hornady. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

These die sets are some of the best. Make sure you read the instructions when you get them, by cleaning them with solvent to remove the rust protectant and apply a small amount of case lube or lubricant.
The bullet seating die has a built in crimp option which eliminates the need for a 3rd die like some other brands. I will say that yes the bullet seating die does leave a small ring on the bullet when fitting but has zero affect on ballistic performance, and I've personally see no bullet stretching but .257 if my smallest caliber. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Also the LNL feature with the busing allow me to switch between my calibers without wasting brass on setup.

It will depend on the set of dies you order but also where you live as Mine for 9mm and 45APC said it was part of it but i never seen anything as yet from Hornady. I also live in Canada which may be the reason also.Details:Â

Do "Hornady® Series I 2-Die Rifle Sets" work with Hornady Shell Plates and Hornady Lock n Load AP press??
Answers
A:Â
The die set WILL WORK with a LNL AP press. As with ALL HORNADY DIES, they come with a factory "CLP" on them that MUST BE REMOVED! If you do not remove the factory lubrication from the dies, you will end up making rounds that can very easily be off.The dies are coated from the factory with a rust preventative so you receive them rust-free. Take the dies apart, and clean them with a cleaner like One-Shot or comparative.
The coating of oil on the die sets MUST BE REMOVED!
The LNL AP Press is a indexing, progressive press. That said. You'll need the appropriate shell plate # for the caliber you are reloading. You only need one shell-plate per caliber. It looks kind of like a bicycle gear, and it'll state specifically which shell plate # to get on the die-set. You can also look it up on Hornady's website if Bass Pro's site has a lack of information.

Yes they do. The die will screw securely down in the lock n load bushings as well as be the right length for the shell plates1 of 1
