Hornady® LEVERevolution™ Rifle Centerfire Ammo
45-70 DOES NOT MEET THE HYPE
ORIGINAL 45-70 AMMUNITION WAS ACCURATE AND FACTORY ADVERTISED AT 2050 FPS. IT AVERAGED 2100 FPS IN MY 1885 HI WALL. NEW LOT READS 1875 FPS. THIS IS ALMOST 10% BELOW HORNADY ADVERTISED SPECS.
FACTORY BULLET DROP IS NOW 6.6 " LOW AT 200yds AND 30.3" LOW AT 300yds. THE ORIGINAL ADVERTISED SPECS WERE 4.1" & 27.8" LOW AT 200 & 300 yds. I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THIS AMMUNITION BECAUSE IT WAS RELATIVLY HOT FOR A FACTORY LOAD. THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE. I HAVE NOT SHOT THIS NEW LOT FOR ACCURACY. NOT INTERESTED IN SHOOTING ANOTHER LAME 45-70 LOAD.

Great 44 Ammo!
I bought this to use in my S&W 629. I use it extensively for deer hunting in both Texas and Indiana, and wanted the best aerodynamics I could get. I'm an old IHMSA metallic silhouette shooter and have taken several deer at 100 yards or more with a dot sighted 44Mag revolver (eyes got too old for the open sights). This ammo has turned me off on reloading my own 44 ammo, it's that good. Accuracy is great, performance as well. I highly recommend it for handgun use. Never tried it in a rifle, but probably good there too.

I have found that it groups at least as well at 100 yards as Remington ammo but with a lot more range. I saw someone complain about the knockdown power at close range, but I have shot 2 deer at 10 and 40 yards. The doe dropped on her tracks at 40 yards and the 170 lb buck was shot at 10 yards and was almost knocked off his feet. He went 15 yards at the most. I've put my 30-06 in the closet because I love hunting with my short-barreled, lever action Marlin 336SS.

Rock Solid Ammo
I went to the range w/ a .30-30 that was sighted in with 150 gr standard soft pts. I then shot Leverlution and it shot 9" high at 100 yards. I was quickly able to get it 1" high. I then shot it at 50 yards and the bullet hit 1/4" high. The bullet is not only hotter than standard soft pts, but shoots flatter. Two weeks later, I shot a 175 lb hog at 80 yards. The bullet placement was just behind the shoulder & the exit hole was about 2". Blood was everywhere and the hog went 10 yards before expiring. I am liking the Leverlution. Not only does it shoot good at the range, but will effectively perform on game.
