I have never shot a turkey but have sighted in my gun for pheasents and rabbitsand compared these shells with my winchester #6 with no flite control. The hornady did much better, not confident enough for fifty but for sure 45. I use a remington 870 with a long beard barrel with modified choke, get a good sight, def need it to see the beards that far away.

i purchased the heavy magnum load in the 3 inch number 4 shot. I came home to pattern it and it done poorly at 30 yards and beyond. I was shooting these rounds out of a thompson center encore with a primos jelly head .660. They patterned so poorly I grabbed a 2 3/4 inch number 4 shell and it patterned amazing. Looks like i will be going to a federal load that everyone have spoken highly of.

I prefer federal turkey loads but tried these in 12g #4 shot. took a big gobbler at 44 yards. Used a Stevens 512 O/U with full chokes..would have been 5 stars but took a long time for the turkey to finally die, although that may be due to the distance it was shot.. I still prefer my Federals

I'm shooting a rem 870 super mag. 26" barrel I used a rem modified choke with these rounds. I shot at 10, 20, 30, and 40 yards. I shot from the sitting position. I was looking for real world not beach testing. My target in all ranges was a 12" circle. Also my Remington has a double bead sight no optics.
Ok at 10 and 20 yards the pattern was solid but spread very quickly. At 40 yards in the 12" target I had a constant 9- 14 shot.
I was doing a side by side with federal 3-1/2 in mag with 2oz shot. These have 1.5. Outside the felt recoil I was consistently impressed with the federals.
However they were fired through a primos jellyhead choke. Only because hornandy recommended using a modified or improved choke. Very disappointed. In comparison.
