Hornady® Heavy Magnum Turkey Nickel Shotshells
I bought these for Turkey hunting, tried to pattern it at 30 and 40 yards with a Rem 1100 with mod choke, patter was inconsistent. So I figured they would work for Pheasant It took 2 shots to bring a pheasant down and didn't kill it. BUT, the new Winchester Long Beard got 2 different Turkeys one at 40yrds and one at 45yrds, it rolled both of them. Love that stuff.

great turkey loads, I bought a new shotgun befor season and did not have an extra full choke tube, I bought these shells and patterned my gun with a modified choke to 50 yards with a good solid pattern, opening morning I dropped a tom at 35 yards

Terrible through multiple barrels and diff chokes
I gave hornady a try on this and was disappointed. I use an 870 rem with a Remington TRKY Super Full choke. I thought maybe it was just my barrel and choke so I had a buddy pattern it as well, he has an 870 with a diff choke.
Here were the results:
through my barrel and choke at 40 yards aiming at the top of the turkey head I didn't have any pellets in the kill zone, they all would have been found in the breasts of the turkey.
through my buddy's barrel and choke at 30 yards the pattern spread out over 3 feet wide with little opportunity to find pellets in the kill zone.
I understand diff ammos work really well in diff barrels and choke combos, thats why we pattern our guns right? But Hornady has a long way to go with so many 870 barrels and Super Full Turkey Choke hunters out there... Does anyone really know what Hornady was thinking?

ok shot, goodprice
I have never shot a turkey but have sighted in my gun for pheasents and rabbitsand compared these shells with my winchester #6 with no flite control. The hornady did much better, not confident enough for fifty but for sure 45. I use a remington 870 with a long beard barrel with modified choke, get a good sight, def need it to see the beards that far away.
