Rated 5 out of 5 by pleased Used these bullets last year with several kills at 500 yards + they did the job all pass threw and held together with good exit holes. Using the 165gr in the 300 ultra mag for deer. January 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by 165gr gmx out of 300wsm I use a Browning .300wsm composite stalker. We reloaded these using IMR4350. I consistiently get 1in groups or better off a shooting vise at 100yds. Last year I used these to take 7 deer here in Ga. Distances ranged from 11yds on a neck shot to 372yds via range finder. All deer went down within 50yds of impact. My dad alos used this rifle combonation to take 3 deer last year 2 dropped and one a 141yd double lung maybe it 30yds after impact. No recovered bullets all were pass throughs. Huge energy transfer and awesome exit holes. Have used other non toxics in the past and these were the cleanest when it comes to residue in the barrel after shooting. January 5, 2011

Some info I saw somewhere states that the 30 cal. GMX has a flex tip design. Is it safe to load this bullet for the .308 Marlin Express lever gun?

A:
it is not recommended that any "pointed" bullets be used in a tubular magazine due to the recoil setting of the next charge (while not in the barrel) unless the bullet is specifically designed to do so (Hornady Levolution). The GMX, and SST series are not associated with this particular design.

You probably need to go to the Hornady site and ask the question. Since the 308 Marlin Express is being fired from a rifle with a tube magazine, it is best to take the recommendation of the Ammo MFG. In this case Hornady. If you don't want to do that, I suggest you content yourself with a round or Flat nose bullet.
