Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME! I love this bait. I use the original blend though. It doesn't stink as bad as other baits and attracted all the catfish in the pond. It takes less than 2 minutes for me to get a 10 pounder with this bait! (See picture) Use it! October 9, 2011

I have the sponge treble hooks and I have the bait, but how should i tie it onto my line? just the sponge or some kind of weight?

Answers

A:
I bought the same thing. I wasted my money on it. What I ended up doing was taking the whole thing apart and just using the rubber orange part and sponge. I replaced the treble hook with an Eagle Claw Circle Sea hook. I catch big catfish, so I needed some real hooks. I tried with the treble hook, but it gets caught in the fleshy catfish mouth too easily. I threw away the line and just put everything back together on a swivel.

If I'm using a sponge rig, then I'm using it on the bottom. I like a 14 lb. main line tide to a barrel swivel with a 1/4 oz egg slip sinker with a plastic bead to protect the knot at the swivel to help with casting. Then tie a 2 foot leader from the swivel to the sponge hook on the other end to finish the rig. Keep the sinker light just to get her down in lake fishin, but river current requires a much heavier weight. Ya don't want the laker cats to feel that weight. The sponge makes the hook float off the bottom right where they like it.
