Depends on how much "load" is on the hauler. I had multiple packs, which loaded the hauler to approximately 36 inches. With that much stuff loaded, I could not get the hatch on my trail blazer open.Details:

Just received Hitch Hauler (Christmas gift for someone else) and it only measures 20" wide rather than 22" as advertised. Promo video on site says 20, box label says 20 but description on Bass Pro site says 22. Disappointed since giftee specifically requested 22" wide hitch hauler. Probably not a good idea. You would be taking an awfully big chance with an expensive piece of machinery, no matter how well it would be anchored down. Plus it would likely be difficult to load, IF it fit in the 22'' x 50'' space. It is not designed to haul anything like that.Details:
When not hauling does this unit fold up so you do not have to drive around with it extended out and nothing on it?Answers
