Hi-Tec® Altitude IV Waterproof Hiking Boots for Men
I bought my first pair of these boots approx. 6 or so years ago. Right out of the box they were comfortable, and break-in time was only a few days. I never abused them climbing mountains or hiking rough trails, but I did wear them almost every day. As with most well worn boots, the soles have worn thin...and a few months ago the outer-side (toe area) of the left boot blew out. Also...the factory waterproofing didn't hold up as long as I had hoped. All-in-all...I'd say I got my monies worth with these boots, and I just bought my second pair.

My favorite boots
I'm a General Contractor and do everything outdoors hunting atv,s .My kids tease me because I wear them every day and every where (except church) movies shopping etc . I've had 15 pairs or more .
But my last pair were different mostly no arch support and I could feel every rock under my feet I'm going to buy one more pair I hope they keep me.
I loved these boots altitudes

on my third pair
the only hiking shoe I buy. they last about two years of hard use (everyday in all kinds of terrain and weather). eventually i end up blowing a side out by my little toe but not the boot's fault. nothing lasts forever. (i even end up wearing them for a while after that happens) comfy from day one and good support with good tread.

Bought a pair last year in the fall.Used them for one winter and holes have developed in the bottoms and waterproof must have wore out too because my feet were getting soaked and cold every time I'd wear them.
I had a pair of hi tecs which lasted almost 3 years but evidently someone decided to make them cheaper which means its time for me to move on and try another brand.
