Hi Mountain Original Mountain Man Blend Breakfast Sausage Seasoning
Let me go on record as saying I do appreciate sage sausage and dressing, when balanced with other spices like onion, garlic, black pepper, etc. The 'Mountain Man' must have loved green aromatic herbs. We mixed according to the directions and our breakfast sausage has a pronounced sage/oregano taste that would probably be better on pizza than with grits or gravy.
If we use the second packet we will add black and red pepper and probably some onion powder to try and drive it back towards a more traditional breakfast flavor.
I recommend pouring this into a bowl or bag and smelling it before you use it. The aromatic herbs you smell will be exactly what you taste. If you like a sweet green sagey sausage...you will love it as is.

hi mountain seasons
this is not the first time i have used this seasoning.i have made deer sausage ,moose sausage ,i have also rolled it into a stick and to tell you this the best tasting stuff i have ever made .i have rolled into like a stick of bolonga and baked it on 210 for about 2 hours,in foil. after that i would drain it. i would slit it end to end i would bake it again for about hour and half,and let it cool,eat it as is or dip it in mustard and put it on a cracker yum yum.or how ever you choose to eat it. i also double the seasoning and add crushed red peppers,and garlic powder.it makes a heck of a snack,ENJOY

Great Easy to Make Breakfast Sausage
I don't know why some gave this a bad review. We just made 4# and have to say this is an awesome mix. Follow the directions not just the recipe. We tried a small amount and added 50% more mix to the recipe as we liked the flavor. The Hi-Mountain Prairie Sage is very good but I have to say I like this more as it is not as overpowering as the sage. Still I like both. I looked on the Hi-Mtn site and did not notice any more Mountain Man listed. Will buy more today!!!!

Have used another brand also sold br BassPro which I thought was better, but this was ok. Did not notice a sage flavor, but did notice a flavor that I could not identify. Not bad, but not a real positive either. Used ground pork and added double the seasoning amount, which is suggested in the directions if more flavor is desired. Will use again and maybe use slightly less seasoning to see if flavor improves.
