The front hook was bent in the package and would not stand up to a striper, red or jack. I replaced them with stronger hooks only hope that doesn't affect the action. I would only recommend this for salt water use if the purchaser is willing to replace the hooks.

I tend to throw this lure more than any of the other topwater lures that I have. They are easy to walk the dog with and cast well.
While the hardware on them is not bad, I would recommend replacing them with VMC 4X hooks. I would occasionally lose fish until I did this.

Bay fishing at night under the lights and the trout tore it up and even stuck it in my finger. That's how sharp the hooks are.........

Like I said, if you want one buy a white one because it's going to be white the first time you catch a fish on it. The paint on this lures is very poorly bonded ,if at all, to the lure body. I have several of these in different colors and the finish is badly damaged on any that have caught a fish. I would understand if the fish had been a mackel, cuda, or something with their teeth. But they have been used for speck trout and redfish so there is no excuse for the lure to fail. I will however admit that they do a decent job of catching fish. They do not work as well if the water is not smooth. This is because of the way they ride in the water. The bait rides a little high in the nose and if the water has a little chop they tend to pop up off the surface making them hard to control. Save yourself the problems and buy a Rapala Skitter Walk. Tthey are extremely tough , cast great even into the wind, and are all together better.
