Heddon Saltwater Super Spook Jr. Hardbaits
Top 5 Redfish and Trout Lure
There are certain lures every fisherman should have and this is one of them. Doesn't matter what setup you fish with from a Bass Pro $39.99 combo to a $700 dollar Shimano Calcutta TE, GLoomis setup this lure will make you a better fisherman from the first cast. Not only that but this lure casts like a dream. *Note* I replace all my trebels with live bait hooks and an extra split ring. This makes removing hooks very easy and you can also now grab the lure around the center and use it as a handle to better control fish. BONE is the best color to use for the TEXAS coast. My setup is a Revo Inshore with a Falcon Walk the Dog Special Rod.

Zara Spook Jr.
Best top water lure I have ever used, PERIOD! I had heard rumors about how great it works, so I decided to try it out. First day on the water it produced numerous stripped bass and red fish. I have not been disappointed yet by this lure's ability to produce fish in calm or windy conditions. Buy one and use it, it will work for you. I recommend the silver and black which is shown in the photo.

A superb topwater plug
This is a bait the angler must learn to fish. Walking the dog is a time proven method of topwater fishing and this model is one of the best. It has an almost perfect weight to size ratio and is easy to cast long distances. It must be used with a loop knot or split ring to get the best walking action. This lure is also a great training lure for the technique since it is less tiresome than the larger model. Topwater fishing is very excting and this bait is a must have for the angler who can't wait for that next explosion on the end of thei line.

Good topwater for freshwater bass
Smallmouth seem to like this in "Spectrum," while Largemouth prefer the more natural patterns such as "Speckled Trout." I know that this is a saltwater lure, but fish don't read the package.
I like the fact that the Super Spook Jr. rattles, I think that helps attract fish. I use the the Super Spook Jr. in a natural or bright paint job until sunset, then switch to a Zara Puppy in the black paint job once it is dark and calm.
Only real downside to this lure is difficulty of use, learning to "walk the dog" is frustrating for some people.
