Built of high tensile wire mesh, the Havahart® Live Animal 2-Door Cage Trap is steel reinforced for long life and durability. It features 2 spring-loaded doors with sensitive triggers to ensure that your game gets caught. Great for nuisance animals and comes fully assembled. Easy to bait, set, clean, and store when not in use. Has a convenient carry handle.
I bought the 42" X 10" X 13" 2 door trap and received it on 2/19/2008. Today is 2/23/2008 and so far I've been able to capture and relocate 3 racoons (3 caught over 4 nights).
The trap is well constructed and easy to operate. When I received mine it seemed that the release mechanism was a little tight. I adjusted the catch on the primary door to make it much easer for the animal to trip the release. That is the only adjustment I've made.
I'm using dry catfood for bait which is easy to load and cleanup.
If you're having issues with animals like racoons I'd highly recommend this product.

so glad i bought it
After reading one review that was not very positive, I was tempted to not purchase this product--I am so glad that I did. The very first night that we put it outside--with no bait, we caught an armadillo. We have since caught 9 of them--all different sizes, and they are no longer tearing up our lawn. great product!

muskrats,raccoons,o'possums and even a
medium sized fox. I recommend this product because IT WORKS. Its the bestever.

Safe and Humane...
I highly recomend this item. I have used it to bring my wayward male cat back home. He is an indoor cat, who decided to see the world...I baited it with catnip and his favorite food. I caught him, but not before catching 3 other cats and one very large rat. All of which I am sure are quite healthy and a bit wiser. Thank you, Havahart.

Type of bait depends on what kind of critter you want to attract. One of our reviewers said he uses dry catfood which is easy to clean up. Catfood will attrack a variety of rodents, including o'possums and muskrats as well as raccoons.
