First off, I have not fished them, but they do seem like a quality soft plastic. I can't smell them, though, so take that for what it's worth.
Now the bad news: The packaging is horrible. The worms don't fit in the bag, so they are all jammed in there with the tails bent at 90 degrees. This bothers me to no end. There are some with obvious permanent bends. This will show when you try and fish them on a shaky head rig. It can also cause worms to twist & turn on the drop, or when you are reeling them back in.
The entire head of the worm is hollow, including the nose. This eliminates the possibility of rigging these on a 'peg-style' shaky head. I guess you have to use a 'corkscrew-type' head like Hart has produced. VERY disapointing design flaw.
And lastly, just to clarify, there is ONE rattle included. So the first time you break off on a log, your rattle is gone. No biggie.
Other than all that, I do like the size and general shape, and the floating tail.
