Needs some help The theory behind this unit is excellent but the material used in it's manufacture is severly lacking in quality. I have gone through half a dozen of these in the past five years and most of my fishing buddies have done likewise. If you are unfortunate enough to bump the unit with your foot or a tackle box the unit just breaks off of the mounting, especially if the temperature is low. Also the plier holders only last a few weeks and they fall off. There is absolutely no strength to the material and I can't understand why that can't be improved. The idea and design is fine but it gets kind of pricy to replace these things a couple of times per season. I would like to see BPS contact the manufacturer and see if they can't up grade the cheap plastic to some other, possibly carbon fiber type, material. Thanks August 13, 2007
Hold it Caddy The Hold it Caddy is perfect for my kind of bass fishing! It is out of the way on the seat post and holds pliers hooks, lures, and sent attractants, as well as a cold drink. It does all this and is out of the way as well, so no more kicking stuff around on the front deck of my boat. This allows me more time to concentrate on finding and hooking Mr. Bass. This is a great product and I would recommend it to any fishermen with boats that have pedistal mounted seats. November 12, 2006
Good Concept I have used this product for several years now and it serves a great purpose. Keeps my clippers, sunscreen, and plastic dye close at hand. I agree with some of the other reviews which state that quality needs to be improved. It helps keep several things close during your trip, until the pliers attachement breaks off after a few trips across the lake. I ended up strapping a plier sheath on the opposite side of my seat pedestal, which only cost a fraction of what another Caddy costs. March 22, 2008
Great product. Not perfect My old one lasted 5yrs and came apart while driving home from the lake in the rain -I keep a towel clipped to this product, and the extra weight was evidently more than it could hold. I lasted a month without replacing it, and was miserable. I count on having my soft drink/coffee, scent spray, and plyers where I want them, when I want them. I love this product. I fish in west Texas in high winds, -so my boat gets pounded. I hardly ever have tools bounce out of this unit. March 17, 2010

You should use the clamp provided. Do not use the screws provided for a pole installation if it's an adjustable (fluid filled) pole. Could be trouble.

It has a clamp that goes through the holder and around your pedestal. Works great. Had to buy another for my father.

post or pin (what ever you want to call it) has a stainless steel hose clamp to go around seat pedestal (i believe you can also screw it to a wall). then caddy slips down on the post. when you see it, it is really simple.

It has a band clamp that comes with it. It just came with one so I installed a second one. Put one on top and one on bottom. This made it real sturdy.
