This lock works like a champ. It is super thick and coated to keep it from rusting. I utilized this to secure my summit climber to numerous trees throughout a full deer season with no issues. I would suggest prior to the winter season keeping the lock assembly oiled or bring a lock deicer if you possibly might need to unlock it. Just remember..locks only keep honest people honest. Those who go out into the woods hunting for treestands and equipment will come prepared to get what they want.

Put my tree stand in the woods for less then a week. Figured hey just in case I should get a lock, so I went to bass pro and purchased the above lock. Now I take a day off from work to go hunting, and presto my tree stand is gone. You would be better off using a master lock with some heavy duty chain. I wish I could of given it no stars. Seemed like a nice lock too.
