GoLight GoBee Stanchion Mount Remote Spotlight 4.5 5 59 59
GoLight Gobee Navigation/Spotlight This nav/spotlight fit my bow socket with no adjustments necessary. I fish before dawn and after dark often, so this spotlight is great for finding channels and docking. It is convenient in that I did not have to do any additional drilling or wiring, and with the remote control you can operate the spotlight from your steering console or anywhere on the boat. The only thing I would mention is at first the spotlight would shut itself off after a while, so I called GoLight Cust. Service who suggested I check the fuse size. Sure enough, my boat's standard nav. fuse was 5 amp, I replaced it with an 8 or 10 amp fuse and it worked perfectly. March 1, 2010
a little dissappointed I was a little dissapointed in this light. In the age of super bright LED lights, this is made with an old school halogen automotive driving light and is not very bright at all. I have $10 led flashlights that are much much brighter. Sure, it rotates around and turns off and on with a remote just fine. But I can see a lot more and can change direction quicker just shining my cheap Cree flashlight. That said, if Gobee would offer a replacement bulb in a good Cree type LED, this thing would have great potential. It would draw a lot less power, not get so hot, and be 1000 percent brighter. Great purchase I purchased this light and it is a very good spotlight. I have the 3 prong connection so I had to change the wiring around as required. The instructions were clear and simple, It took me about 2 minutes to complete this task and put the 4 screws back in the base. One advantage of this light is that it sits right on the bow of your boat so you do not get the reflected light off the fishing deck etc back in your eyes. I would recomend this to anyone who leaves before daylight and returns after dark. It is also great for loading your boat on the trailer in the dark. May 10, 2010
well pleased the install of this light was easy. the 3 pin connection matched my sockett there for no wiring change was required.directions for a wiring change was explained in detail -easy to follow- if need be.i have tried the light on land , the remote is simple to use and the light is as bright as the automotive light i had been using. i do not expect any problems with being able to see bouys or hazards March 6, 2009

You can add a switch if you don't already have one for your lights.
I don't think it is designed to have the spotlight without running lights.
But why would you?

If you have pre-exsisting wires all you have to do is connect a heavier guage wire to the hot wire you are looking to replace and pull it threw your wiring harness back to your switch. If no wires then just run the desired length of wire to you switch or battey

3 Pin Light Operation

Details:
I have a 3 pin socket in which the 3rd pin is hot all the time for an auxillary stanchion pole light. When I rewire the Gobee for 3 pins can I still operate the navigation light from the existing cockpit switch and operate the Gobee light from the remote on-off switch without having to turn the navigation lights on. Basically I want to know if I can operate the Gobee navigation lights and Gobee spot light independently

I've only used mine twice but I am pretty sure the nav lights operate with the switch at the helm and the spotlight can only be operated with the remote. So yes, you can operate them independently.

A:
Yes you will be able to operate the navigation light from the existing cockpit switch. With the Gobee light installed when you operate your cockpit light switch the bow running lights (red/green) on the Gobee light will turn on. The flood light will not. The flood light operates seperately with the remote. The cockpit switch must be on to supply power to the bow pin where the light is installed, which turns on the Gobee navigation lights. Only when you press the center button on the remote will the flood light come on.

I would say yes. My boat had 3 pin socket and when I wired the Gobee to accomodate the navigation lights are controled on/off by the switch on the console and the gobee spotlight comes on off with remote.
