I do not generally write reviews and I waited a long time before writing this one. I have had my G-17 since Dec. of last year and have ran about 4600 rounds through it. I have had not one malfunction. It’s easy to keep the gun running, even in rain and snow. Ease of use couldn’t be simpler, and the action as purchased, is just about perfect. New or less experienced shooters can’t go wrong with the G-17. It is easily modified with Glock’s wide range of accessories and maintenance couldn’t be easier. I use it as a concealed carry weapon and it has never been an issue. But what attracted me the most, was the price for such a solid, reliable handgun. Regardless if you’re new to shooting a handgun or a seasoned Pro, I think you can’t go wrong with the Glock 17.

As one of the most popular guns in the world there is a tremendous amount of information about this gun. Information about how to break it down, maintain, etc is everywhere including videos on YouTube. The 9mm is a very civilized gun with low recoil. The range charges $12.00 for a box of 50 which your only going to beat going for a 22 in reduced costs for practice. Maintenance is a snap. The one thing I found and the range master confirmed on a --new-- Glock the magazine springs are very tight. It takes about 250-300 rounds to really season the gun. On the first 100 I was getting 6 jams, 2nd 100 3 jams, 3rd 1 jam, etc. I got mixed advice but the range master has been proven correct. So if your looking for a good solid gun I would recommend this one.

When the NY State Police was accepting bids for semi-automatic handguns, The Glock Sales Rep, at our firing range, attached a rope to the gun and dragged it behind the car for quite a distance, after which, he loaded it and proceeded to shoot several hundred rounds without a single misfire. Talk about "Dependable!".
The tenifer coating is actually harder than File Steel, nearly impossible to scratch.

As far as dependability you can't beat this handgun. It is the most dependable on the market which is why it's chosen by so many law enforcement and military personel. I've put about 200 rnds through it without any problems. The accuracy is great as well. The only thing I don't like about a Glock is the trigger seems to have such a long pull. It's not too heavy, but it just seems like you pull it back forever. That's mainly because of the trigger safety which is a good thing when you're carrying it, but not when you're shooting it.
