I bought these for my dad for Christmas. It gets pretty cold here in Arkansas during the winter months and can make fishing a nightmare. These gloves have kept his hands warm running 50 mph on Greers Ferry Lake every time he used them. The only time they didn't work was when he left them in the truck! They are so nice I think I'll get a pair for myself.

Best winter fishing gloves I've ever used. I was worried about them not being warm enough, they are worth every penny! very thick n wind proof yet they allow for flexibility.

Not sure about the small size but my dad wears Large in weightlifting gloves and the Large mitts fit him just fine.

Yes the thumb does open. If you look very close at the picture you will notice the small velcro dot for securing it open.
