Gerber Sport Axe II
I haven't had a chance to use the ax but so far I'm a little dissapointed with my purchase. The ax is actually a fiskars made piece w a gerber stamp on it. The ax feels sturdy I think it will work allright but what really bothers me is it doesn't come with the nylon sheeth as the description stated. I don't want to hassle with returning it so I'm gonna have to get a sheeth made for it. Other wise I'll gave a sharp ax head cutting and scraping everthing it touches. Also I can't find out what type of steel it's made of.

Kinda Cheaply made
I haven't used it yet and may return it. Holding it in my hand, I was surprised how cheap the handle material is. I own quite a few Gerber products. All are well made and are sturdy. This is not the feeling I get with this one.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and finally had a chance to use it last weekend. It made very fast work of pine logs I was cutting up for a camp fire. The shape of the head really bit into the wood while chopping and it made splitting the wood very easy. It did exactly what I needed it to do. My only complaint is that the sheath isn't the kind of sheath you can attach to a belt.

oustanding axe. have owned for 5 years, used camping mostly... This thing is un-breakable.....trust me. i have cut a 16" diameter log with this axe...i frequently throw this axe as well, many times striking on the handle, or missing and hitting a rock...no problem, hammers well too and very light weight. Sharpens quickly .....will buy another if this one ever breaks...
