Gerber Paraframe Mini Knife
I am a big fan of small, lock-blade pocket knives. You'll frequently find me with one in my pocket. I find a small knife usually does everything a big knife does - plus I'm far more likely to have it with me when I need it. Locking blades are just far safer than nonlocking blades. Let's face it - we often use knives for stuff we probably shouldn't, and the ability to keep that blade from snapping shut on our fingers is invaluable.
In this category, the small Gerber Paraframe is a great choice. It comes out of the package quite sharp, holds an edge well, and resharpens readily. It is reasonably light. The pocket clip adds some bulk if just carried around in a pants pocket, but it is handy if you want to clip it to a strap or the edge of a pocket to keep it handy or prevent loss in the field. (The clip is removeable, but I've never done so.) For the price, it's nearly unbeatable. I've owned several - and when I lose one I don't panic. This last purchase is the plain blade. I've also owned the partially serrated, which is handy for hacking through cordage. Both are good, can't say I prefer one over the other. Opening. locking, and unlocking the blade are easy and straightforward.
While I have had other knivss I might like a bit better (e.g. the now discontinued nylon handled Gerber Microlight), this is among my favs and a terrific value.

I love this knife! It's very small so it doesn't clutter up my pocket, came with a very sharp blade, and is of great quality.
