I bought this machete to wear while fishing remote area riverbanks in my area.
There is always one small tree branch and five twigs preventing the perfect cast into the honey hole.Well not any more!
Not a survival knife but well made for the price and if used wisely could be the the ticket for making a remote camp and fire if needed.

this machete is sturdy, reliable and lives up to the gerber name. I've cut branches2" thick, I had to sharpen it alittle of course. I threw it 20 feet away and stuck it 3" in to a Maple tree. I can't wait to see What it will do to my neighbors cat!!!!

Right out of the box this thing couldn't slice through butter. Had to sharpen this thing until it was driving me crazy. When it was time to test it, I tried to cut a small branch for a fire. The blade didn't hold up to the job. The saw part is great. But that's about it.
