I'm just a poor ol' country boy so when I ordered this knife two things came in to play, price and the fact I had used a Gerber Gator knife for a few years and it is still sharp as it was when I bought it. When my order got here I opened it and pulled the knife from it's sheath and ran my thumb lightly over the blade. It let me know right away it was dern sharp! I laid the blade on my arm just to see if it would shave the hair on my arm and it did just that! I have sharpened my wife's paring knife with the handy sharpener in the bottom of the sheath and she was real happy with the result. I just ordered two more of these Gerber knives, one for my brother and one for my son. I wish I had done that when I ordered mine but was skeptical. If you have any family or friends with a birthday or something coming up I promise they will be tickled to get one of these fine knives! We are bank and wader fishermen, can't afford a boat, but we catch trout aplenty and this Gerber knife is not only affordable, the dern thing actually works!!!

Have had many other filleting knives, but none even come close to the Gerber. Very seldom do I have to sharpen them. I keep a couple of them in the holiday trailer and a couple of them at home. As the title says " A Must Have" !
