I have a couple different gut hooks and this one is by far the best. It take regular blades you can find anywhere for cheap. With the plastic protection around the blade you don't have to worry about puncturing the guts. Well worth the money!!

I purchased this product as an alternative to a Wyoming Knife. I used this knife to gut a deer that I killed and it didn't perform like the Wyoming Knife. The first time I used it the knife caught the guts and punctured the stomach. Yuck! The Wyoming knife has more round housing and doesn't catch the things you don't want it to. The E-Z Zip will not even cut the ribs along the sturnum I had to use my heavy skining knfe. I will get a new Wyoming Kife.

For the price the zip knife is excellent but could/would be better if it was stainless steel instead of plastic.

Used on a white tail and worked great. You will have to use a knife to make an incision to get it started. Once the tip of the Zip Knife got under the hide, it sliced easily.
