I was introduced to these last year when I heard about them in a bass fishing forum. I bought two packages, but hadn't used them yet. I was fishing a local lake when I encountered another fisherman who told me he had caught a dozen bass. I had caught a few, but nowhere near a dozen.
Of course I asked what he was using and he said "Swim Senko". That was enough for me, I opened a package, tied one on and and was soon catching bass like crazy. I think I finished the day with 15 bass and I actually caught two catfish on the thing as well.
Since then the Swim Senko has become my go to bait when nothing else is working. Unfortunately I have to buy them frequently because my fishing partners want to try 'em they see I'm outfishing them.
I usually use them weightless with a 5/0 wide gap offset worm hook, but occasionally add a pegged 1/8 ounce bullet weight .

This bait throws good, swims, sink with incredible action. I actually won second place in a local tournament. I had to three day them to get here on time, but worth it! So if you want to catch fish swimsenko is the way to go.

I've never fish at night with these but I'm sure it could be interesting. I think you should rig it with a 5/0 weighted hook and maybe a rattle tube inserted in the back portion of the swim senko....give it a try and please, let us know if it was good.
Use either a 3/0 or 4/0 weighted swimbait hook. If you go weightless, use a 5/0 Gamakatsu EWG Superline hook. The 4/0 Owner Twistlock light swimbait hook was specifically designed for this bait, and it seem to work the best in my opinion. It will also help to make your bait last longer. Good luck.
It depends on what you want to do with it. If you want a slow moving bait that stays off the bottom go weight less I like texas rigs too. If you want this lure near the bottom us a carolina rig with a bullet sinker above the barrel swivel. I always make mine weedless by using offset shank worm hooks.
