The unit was easy to install with plenty of cable left over. Easy to set up and use. Accurate and clear in sun light. Good economical unit.

Less than a year and the power cable quit working on this unit. Spend a few more dollars and go for a higher quality unit.

I purchased this product for my 14' jon boat (paid $80). I was looking for a simple plug-and-play device, thinking this product was simpler to use than I bargained for. Mounting the transducer, as well as the fish finder itself, requires either punching more holes into your boat or more-or-less permanently attaching it to your trolling motore, plus you have to hardwire this unit to your 12 v battery unless you want to purchase the expensive Garmin battery pack. I returned this product to the store and plan to purchase a Hummingbird Fishin' buddy instead.

It comes with raw wires, meant to be fused and attached to a 12v marine battery. You can purchase a battery pack, but it'll cost you almost as much as the unit itself, and you can purchase a suction-cup attachment to mount the transducer to the bottom of a kayak.

There is no separate temperature sensor, but it does give you a water temperature reading. The included transducer must be mounted so that it always remains beneath the surface of the water. Presumably, the transducer includes a temperature sensor.No, the graph does not measure your speed.

If your boat has a trolling motor on it, the unit comes with stuff to mount the transducer onto the motor.A:Â
Depending on your pontoon, most Benningtons have a square bracket on one of the two pontoons. You would mount it to this bracket. If not try your local boat shop they may be able to weld a bracket on for cheap.Details:Â

I've heard this is a good model for kayak fishing, although it might not be as cheap as you initially think. You will need to purchase a suction-cup adapter to attach to the transducer, which is roughly $10 online, and you will need to purchase a small 12v battery.A:Â
The short answer is yes. I am the head honcho for the Kayak Fishing Club of the Palm Beaches and some of our members use this unit. A gel cell is the most used power supply but one member uses rechargeable AA batteries in a home made case to power it and it works just fine.
