I rate this GPS a 3.5. It is a good basic GPS and will get you there and back, I don't like the very small dashes that the track shows".........." way to small. Grabs satellites fast and hills and tree cover will not affect it. My complaint is NO owners manual included just a fast start guide and I contacted them and they don't sell/have a bound manual for me???? BUT you can spend $15.99 and shipping costs for a product DVD, do they think a buyer can figure out all features????? What happens with really complex GPS units-----get lost?

I use this unit for calculating acreage and it works great for that. Have not used it for other purposes.

Very unuser friendly waypoints show up as numders if you dont remember what number is what you have to change screens then open waypoint up to see the name the battries do not last even close to the time they claim. The compass locks at times and can be turned 360 degrees with out moving, the only good point it has is it locks onto Sats fast spend a little more or you wont be happy.

The Garmin eTrex® 10 just has a preloaded basemap and does not accept additional mapping. Instead you may consider the Garmin eTrex® 20 which does accept additional mapping. Garmin does sell Equestrian mapping that currently covers trails in 16 states. This mapping is available directly through Garmin.
