this new rubber core weight is a great improvement to the screw on Gambler Florida wieghts. Yes, it takes time to thread the insert device but once it's on it works quite well. It'll eventually wear the rubber core and start sliding, but that's to be expected. like any lure or weight device it has some limitations. I use it in heavy cover like Lilly Pads with pond weed or milfoil with super braid 20 lb or 30 lb and it holds it's position well. The internal rattles in a brass weight work great as well. It's nice to change positions of the weight on the line instantly depending on the cover you're flipping or pitching into.

The idea of this product is great.The problem is: 1. The time of using the small threading tool.It is of soft metal,hard to keep up with,and with fisherman of age and eyes not as sharp, almost impossible to thread with 15-20lbs. mono line.But once it is complete,I love it. Also,I see that when fishing @ night,this would be almost impossible to use.Time is important when one will break off and need to re-rig with this system.Doing this off the water is one thing,but when you are out there on the water it's different. The rocking and rolling of the boat on busy lake,well this would be a challenge.Like the screw lock system better,or the wts. with larger holes and use the bullet wts. T-stops for Texas rigs.
