I always sharpen all of my hooks even before the first time using them. These hooks did not need it at all. I trimmed the weed guard back a bit as well. I did not lose any fish on my first day with these. I usually lose 1 or 2 on average.

I have been using this hook for wacky worming for a month now. It has a great hook set and I have run it through many weeds, logs, and lily pads without any hangups. Ordering more soon just to have as backups..

Love this Wacky hook....Have to keep the weed guard straight, as it will turn after use, but it is soft enough you don't miss many.
