Gamakatsu® Jigheads - Round 211 Have been using these jigheads for shad on the American River for at least 2 years now. Great hookup ratio. Cost a little more than plain jighead brands, but I'll pay it for the great hook up ratio. Slight tick, line drop, barely snap my wrist, shad on. That simple to use. Play the shad on a lighter drag though, some guys have a tendency to have fish come off on stronger drag settings. I haven't had the problem myself. April 14, 2013
Great Jig I like these for a number of reasons. I can paint them myself, the hook is black matte (non-reflective), and the hook is very sharp. I've started to use these for leeches for walleye exclusively. They come in some smaller sizes you could also use ice fishing or beneath a float with bait or plastics. Definitely worth the money. For saltwater use we would recommend items from our Offshore Angler brand of terminal. Our Offshore Angler Grouper Jig http://www.basspro.com/Offshore-Angler-Grouper-Jigs/product/8353/ would be recommended for going deep. Actual size would depend on how fast and how deep you want to go.
